Spook.

This is a nice little spook, I have made for you.
Now you can make one of your own.

This is a Selection tutorial,
and for that purpose, you'll need my Selections.
Get them here. Zip them up in your PSP, Selections folder.

Save often!

Start with a New Image 400 x 400, transparent.

New Layer. Flood fill with black color. Close the Layer. You can always turn on this
Layer and check, if everything looks all right and then close it again.

New Layer. Call it Body. Foreground color #EAE8FE. Background white.
Flood Fill the Layer with Foreground color.
Selections, Load from Disk, body.sel. Fill it with white color.

Selections, Modify, Expand 2. Selections, Invert. Delete. Deselect.

This is how it looks now.

Let's do some shading.

Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the body. Click inside it.
Keep the "ants" dancing. New Layer. Color #0420B0. Airbrush 3.
Put some color on about the same places I did.

Blur, Gaussian Blur 18. Keep the "ants" still dancing. New Layer.
Now, make a little white color like I did, with Airbrush 6.

Blur, Gaussian Blur 10. Deselect.
Keep Layer1 closed. Layers, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Body.

New Layer. Call it Arm1. Foreground color #EAE8FE. Background white.
Flood Fill the Layer with Foreground color.
Selections, Load from Disk, arm1.sel. Fill it with white color.

Selections, Modify, Expand 2. Selections, Invert. Delete. Deselect.
Fill the holes under the fingers and a little around them too, with color #DBD9EB.

Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the arm. Click inside it.
Keep the "ants" dancing. New Layer. Color #0420B0. Airbrush 1.
Put some color on the same places I did.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 8. Deselect.
Freehand Tool. Delete this end-part.

Close Layer1 and Body Layer. Layers, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Arm1.

New Layer. Call it Arm2. Foreground color #EAE8FE. Background white.
Flood Fill the Layer with Foreground color.
Selections, Load from Disk, arm2.sel. Fill it with white color.

Selections, Modify, Expand 2. Selections, Invert. Delete. Deselect.

Do the same with this arm. Fill the holes under the fingers
and a little around them too, with color #DBD9EB.

Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the arm. Click inside it.
Keep the "ants" dancing. New Layer. Color #0420B0. Airbrush 1.
Put some color on the same places I did.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 8. Deselect. Freehand Tool. Delete this end-part.

Close Layer1 + Body Layer and Arm1 Layer.
Layers, Merge Visible. Call it Arm2.

This is how your spook looks right now.

Stand on Body Layer. Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the body.
Click inside it. Keep the "ants" dancing. Effects, Cutout.

Do the same procedure to Arm1 and Arm2.
Take some Smudge at the armpits, so they will look a little smoother.

Now to the face.

Stand on Body Layer.
Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the body. Click inside it.
Keep the "ants" dancing. New Layer. Color #F60C00. Airbrush 2.
Put some color on the same places I did.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 12. Deselect.
Close Layer1 and Layer Arm1 and Arm2. Layers, Merge Visible.

New Layer. Call it Eye1. Fore- and Background black color. 
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make an oval 8 x 12. Effects, Inner Bevel, Round.
Duplicate the layer and put the other eye in place.

New Layer. Call it Eyebrow. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Retain Style checked.
Make an oval 9 x 8. Selection Tool, Rectangle. Delete more than half of the oval.
Put the eyebrow in place. Duplicate and put the other eyebrow in place.

New Layer. Call it Nose. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Uncheck Retain Style.
I used color ##EEE8E8, on both Fore- and Background.
Make an oval 10 x 5. Put the nose in place.

New Layer. Call it Mouth. Preset Shapes, Crescent.
I used color #F60C00, on both Fore- and Background.
Make it
9 x 15. Deformation Tool. Turn the mouth into the position you like.
Lower the Opacity to 30.

Close Layer 1. Layers, Merge Visible to all other layers.

Boooooo...... Now you are ready to spoooook!
