Snowman.
This snowman, in his warm fleece-scarf, is made with Selections.
Get them here and zip them up in your PSP Selections folder.
I have also included a Preset Shape, lo_tassel. Zip it up in your Shapes Folder.
Start with a New Image, 300 x 400, transp,
16 mill.
New Layer. Call it Head. Selections, Load from disk, snowman1, head.sel.
Flood Fill with white color. Selections, Float. Effects 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Teeth. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, teeth.sel.
Flood Fill with black color. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Eyes. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, eyes.sel.
Flood Fill with black color. Deselect.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Head.
New Layer. Call it Captop. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, captop.sel.
Flood Fill with color #57735F or a choice of your own.
Selections, Float.
Effects 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Caplines1. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, caplines1.sel.
Flood Fill with color #699173. Deselect.
This is what you will have now.
New Layer. Call it Capbrim. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, capbrim.sel.
Flood Fill with color #699173. Selections, Float. Effects 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Caplines2. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, caplines2.sel.
Flood Fill with color #4F7159. Zoom the picture to see better. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Tassel. Preset Shapes,
lo_tassel. Use color #699173 on Foreground
and color #3F5B48 on Background. Make the tassel about 130 x 118 in size.
Place
it on top of the cap.
Stand on Layer Tassel. Effects, 3D, Drop Shadow as below.
Close layer Head. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Cap.
New Layer. Call it Scarf1. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, scarf1.sel.
Flood Fill with color #083676. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarf2. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, scarf2.sel.
Flood Fill with color #1655B4. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change color to #121666. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarfshadow1. Selections, Load from disk, snowman1,
scarfshadow1.sel.
Fill with color #0D274F. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Scarf2. Magic Wand. Click inside the picture, at a corner.
Selections, Invert. Keep it still selected and go back to Layer Scarfshadow1.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur9. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarf3. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, scarf3.sel.
Flood Fill with color #1655B3. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarfshadow2. Selections, Load from disk, snowman1,
scarfshadow2.sel.
Flood Fill with color #0D274F. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Scarf3. Magic Wand. Click
inside the picture, at a corner.
Selections, Invert. Keep it still selected and go back to Layer Scarfshadow2.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur12. Deselect.
Close Layers Head and Cap. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Scarf.
This is his looks right now.
New Layer. Call it Nose. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, nose.sel.
Flood Fill with color #FE932A. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Noseshadow. Selections, Load from disk,
snowman1, noseshadow.sel.
Flood Fill with color #C66B12. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Nose. Magic Wand. Click
inside the picture, at a corner.
Selections, Invert. Keep it still selected and go back to Layer Noseshadow.
Retouch Tool, Smudge.
Smudge the nose-lines a bit.
Effects, 3D, Drop Shadow as below.
New Layer. Call it Star. Selections, Load from disk, snowman1, star.sel.
Flood Fill with color #FED23A. Deselect. Effects, 3D, Drop Shadow as below.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done.
