Santa-star.

This little Christmas ornament is very easy to do.
Why don't you try it?

I will give you the pattern filling and branch here.
Unzip the pattern in your PSP Pattern folder and the branch in your PSP Image folder.

Start with a New Image 300 x 300, transp, 16 mill.
Get the branch you got in the zip. Copy and Paste it as a New Layer.
Duplicate seven times. You will now have eight branches. Put them together like this.

Use Deformation Tool to turn them. When you have turned a branch
you also have to take Effects, Sharpen once. On some brances you can take
Colors, Adjust, Brighten/Contrast. Set Brighten to 30, Contrast 0.
Just to make the branches look a little different.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible, Call the layer Branches.

New Layer. Call it Black star. Preset Shapes, Star. Antialias checked.

Black color on both Fore- and Background. Make the star
Place it with your Mover like this.

New Layer. Call it Red star. Set Foreground color to #CE2828
and Background to Pattern.

Look for the red and black dotted pattern you got in te zip. Settings like this.

Make another star the same size. Place it on top of the black one.
Make sure the red star covers the black one.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Keep it selected. New Layer. Airbrush 3, color #4C1C14.
Make some shadows like this.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 9. Deselect.

Freehand tool, Point to point. Antialias checked.

Mark the outer part on the left edge (the hand) that you will delete. Delete.
Now you will have a black hand.

 Do the same with the right hand and with the feet.
Try to make the parts equal.

Close Layer Branch. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Star.

New Layer. Call it Rim1. Draw, Single Line as below.

Make the rim 27 x 24. Make the rim go along the black edges, like this.

Make rims on both hands and feet. Make each rim on a New Layer.

Close layers Branches and Star.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Rim1.

New Layer. Call it Rim2. Draw, Single Line as before. Make a new rim.
A little bigger tis time, about 36 x 29. Make new rims on feet and hands.
Make them on separate layers so you can move them with your Mover.
Place them like this.

Close Layers Branches, Star and Rim1.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Rim2.

Stand on layer Rim1 in your Layer Palette. Effects, Texture, Fur like this.

Retouch tool, Smudge. Settings like this.

Smudge the rims with tiny strokes, to make it look like fur.

Stand on Layer Rim2. Effects, Texture, Fur as before and Smudge as before.

Close Layer Branch. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the Layer Star.

Now to the head.

New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Antialias checked.
Color #F3D0B9 on both Fore- and Background. Make the head 45 x 45.
Place it on the top spike, like this.

New Layer. Call it Beard. Preset Shapes Heart. Color white on both Fore- and Background.
Make the heart 66 x 27. Place it on Santas chin.

Effects, Texture, Fur as before.
Retouch tool, Smudge as before. Smudge the beard with tiny strokes.
If you like, you can take once again Effects, Texture, Fur as before.

Stand on layer Head in your Layer Palette. Selections, Select all. Selections, Float.
Airbrush 3, color #F78E83. Make some red on the cheeks.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 4. Deselect.

New Layer. Call it Eye. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Black color on both
Fore- and Background. Make the eye of your choice. I used 4 x 4.
But you can also make them oval. That looks nice too. Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel, Round.
Duplicate the eye and put them in place.

New Layer. Call it Nose. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color #DCB192 on both Fore- and Background. Make the nose 10 x 7. Selections, Select all.
Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect.

Drag the eyes and nose in place with your Mover. I placed my parts like this.

New Layer. Call it Brim. Draw, Single Line12. White color on both
Fore- and Background. Make the brim 50 long. Place it on Santas forehead.

Effects, Texture, Fur as before.
Retouch tool, Smudge as before. Smudge the brim with tiny strokes.

New Layer. Call it Tassel. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color #DCB192
on both Fore- and Background. Make the tassel 30 x 30.
Effects, Geometric, Wave as below.

Effects, Texture, Fur as before. Retouch tool, Smudge as before.
Smudge the tassel with tiny strokes. Place it on the cap with your Mover.

New Layer. Call it Belt. Preset Shapes, Ellipse, Line width 6. Antialias checked.
Color #BBB8B6 on Foreground. Background closed. Make an ellipse 145 x 74.
 Place it on Santas belly. Freehand tool. Antialias checked.
Mark the part that you will delete, like this.

Delete. Deselect. Now you will have the belt around Santas waist.
Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel as below.

New Layer. Call it Strap. Draw, Single Line 6. Color #BBB8B6.
Make the strap vertically 30 long. Place it in the middle of the belt.
Effects, Geometric. Wave as below.

Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel as before.

New Layer. Call it Buckle. Preset Shapes, Rounded Rectangle. Color #BBB8B6.
Background closed. Line width 4. Make the buckle 27 x 15. Place it at the
middle of the belt.  Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel as before.

Close Layer Branches. Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Santa.

Stand on Layer Branches in your Layer Palette. New Layer. Call it Ring.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Foreground color #B9AA65. Background closed.
Line width 2. Antialias checked. Make a ring 15 x 50. Place it behind Santas cap.
Effects, Texture, Sculpture as below.

Get the branch you got in the zip. Copy and Paste it as a New Layer.
Place it on top of the ring to cover it a bit.

Have a look at your picture. If you want to change anything, do so now.
When you are happy about what you see, Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
