Plantstake.

Would you like to have a nice little plantstake to decorate your Images with?
Try this one. It is made with vectors, but it is not difficult. Give it a try!

You will also need Eye Candy.

Start with a New Image, transp, 16 mill.
New Vector Layer. Call it Cheek. Preset Shapes.
Settings as below. Color: Foreground #C0C0C0, Background black color.

Make an ellipse about 95 x 135.

Node Edit. Push the marked node upwards a bit.

Right click and Quit Node Editing. Left click.

This is what you will have now.

Click on Layer Cheek in your layers Palette. Convert to Raster Layer.
Magic Wand. Click on the gray color. Eye Candy as below.

Deselect. Duplicate, Image, Mirror and put the other cheek in place.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Cheeks.

New Vector Layer. Call it Forehead. The same settings as before. Preset Shapes, Ellipse.
Make an ellipse 180 x 50. Point with the cursor on the ring
and add two nodes with a left click, while you keep Ctrl down. Put the nodes at the arrows.

Push the node in the middle downwards and arrange the other nodes like this.

Right click and Quit Node Editing. Left click.

 Convert to Raster Layer. Call it Forehead.
Magic Wand. Click on the gray color. Eye Candy as earlier. Deselect.
Put it in place like this.

New Vector Layer. Call it Chin. The same settings as before.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make an ellipse 50 x 45. You don't have to do anything with the chin.
Just take Object Selector, Node Edit. Right click. Quit Node Editing. Left Click.
Right click and convert to Raster Layer in your Layer Palette.
Magic Wand. Click on the grey color. Eye Candy as before. Deselect.
Drag this layer to the bottom.

New Vector Layer. Call it Ear. The same settings as before.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make an ellipse 45 x 75. Put the nodes like this.

Right click on the node marked. Node type, Convert to Line.
Right click and Quit Node Editing. Left click.
Right click and convert to Raster Layer in your Layers Palette. Call it Ear.
Magic Wand. Click on the grey color. Eye Candy as before. Deselect.
Drag this layer to the bottom in your Layers Palette. Duplicate, Image, Mirror.
Put the ears in place. Close all Layers except the ears layers.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Ears.

Now to the whiskers.

New Raster Layer. Draw tool as below. Keep Background closed.
The same grey color as before on Foreground.

Make three lines about 120 long. Put them like this.

Eye Candy as before. Duplicate, Image, Mirror and put the whiskers on the other half of the face.
Close all other layers except those two whisker layers.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Whiskers.

New Raster Layer. Foreground and Background the same gray color.
Uncheck Create as vector. Make a circle 20 x 20. Eye Candy as before.
Make sure this Layer is on top in your Layer Palette.

Now to the eyes. This is a fun part, because I want you to find the figure number 9 in a nice Font.
I used Font Party. Size 48.
New Raster Layer. Foreground and Background the same gray color. Make the 9. Image, Flip.
Eye Candy, the same settings as before. Put the eye i place. Duplicate. Image Mirror.
Put the other eye in place.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Head.

This was the cat. Hope it wasn't too hard for you.



If you like, you can, with a few changes, make a dog instead. Change the ears and eyes.
Don't make any whiskers. Make dots instead. He might look like this.

Here I have used other fillings and eyes.

 

Now to the stick.
New Image, 200 x 600, transp. New Layer. Call it Top.
Here I have used a Font again. It is the figure number 8 and the font is Sylfaen, size 24.

You can use any font you like. Make eight 8:ths. Put them under eachother in a row.
 Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Chain. Eye Candy, the same settings as before.



New Layer. Call it Stick. Draw, single line, black color, size 5. Make a line 0 x 250.
Put it at the bottom of your Image. Be sure to center it properly.
Effects, Texture, Blinds as below. Color#C0C0C0.

Layers, Merge; Merge visible. Call it Stick.

Now you have to Resize your cat Image. Resize to 150. Effects, Sharpen once.
Copy and Paste it into the Stick Image. Put it on top of the stick.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
