Rabbit.
A little cute pixel rabbit for you.
Start with a New Image 150 x 150, transp, 16
mill. Flood Fill the layer with a dark color
to be able to see better while you are counting the pixels.
New Layer. Zoom your picture to 10:1. Airbrush1. Shape: square.
Outlines on the body color #BBBCC5.
Outlines on the chest and tail: white color.
Outlines on the toes color #B79D99.
Start at the bottom of your picture.
We will do only one half of the body to begin with.
When you are done with the outlines,
Duplicate, Image, Mirror and put the two halves together.
Close Layer Background. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Body.
This is what you will have now.
Flood Fill the feet with color #CDCED5.
Flood Fill the body with color #BBBCC5.
Flood Fill the chest and tail with white color.
New Layer. Call it Arm1. Use color #CDCED5
for the outlines on the arm
and color #B7ADAE on the paw. Flood Fill with color #CDCED5.
Place it like this.
New Layer. Call it Arm2. Use the same colors on outlines and fillings as on Arm1.
Place the arm like this.
New Layer. Call it Head. We will do just
one half here also.
Use color #F0E8E9 for the outlines.
When you are done, Duplicate, Image, Mirror
and put the two halves together.
Close all layers except those two head layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
Call it Head.
Flood Fill the head with color #F0E8E9 and place
it like this.
New Layer. Call it Ear1.
Outer ear, outline color #CDCED5. Inner ear, color #FAB8B8.
Flood Fill the outer ear with color #CDCED5. Flood Fill the inner ear with color
#FBC9C9.
Flood Fill the inner part with color #DDA9A9. Place it on the head like this.
New Layer. Call it Ear2. Use the same colors on the outlines as on Ear1.
Flood Fill with the same colors and place the ear like this.
New Layer. Call it Cheek. Use white color for the outlines.
Flood Fill the cheek and eye spot with
white color. Duplicate. Image, Mirror.
Place the cheeks like this.
New Layer. Call it Whiskers.
Color #AFA6A9 on the whiskers and color
#B7ADAE on the muzzle.
Duplicate, Image, Mirror and place the two parts together like this.
Close all layers except those two whiskers
layers.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Flood Fill the mouth with color #DDA9A9.
Place the whiskers on top of the cheeks like this.
New Layer. Call it Nose. Black color.
Flood Fill with black color. Place it between the whiskers.
New Layer. Call it Eyes. Black color.
Duplicate, Image, Mirror. Put the eyes in place.
That was so far. Now to the shading.
Stand on Layer Body. Magic Wand. Set
Tolerance to 10. Click on the gray part.
Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Click on te feet. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Arm1. Magic Wand. Click on
the arm. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as before. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Arm2 and do the same. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Ear1. Magic Wand. Click on
the gray part. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as before, but change Vertical to -1 and Horizontal to -4.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Ear2 and do the same. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Head. Magic Wand. Click on
the head. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Magic Wand. Click outside the head.
Selections, Invert. New Layer.
Airbrush2, color #F78E83. Make some red on the cheeks.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur4. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Ear1. Magic Wand. Click on
the pink inner-ear. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as before, but change Opacity to 70 and color to #F67E72.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Ear2 and do the same on the pink part. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Body. Magic Wand. Click on
the white chest. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Click on the white tail. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Cheek. Click outside the
cheek. Selections, Invert. Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur1. Deselect.
Do the same with Layer Copy of Cheek. Deselect.
Now you can stop here if you like, or you can take some softening on some parts.
I used Retouch Tool, Soften, as below, on the outlines of the pink inner-ears. .
Use some softening here also.
You can also soften the outlines of the white chest if you like. I did so.
When you are satisfied with what you see,
close Layer Background. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done.
