Penguin.
Do you like to make a little penguin?
I have made Selections for you. Get them here and zip them up in your PSP
Selections folder.
I have also included the tassel-shape. Zip it up in your PSP-Shapes folder.
Start with a New Image 250 x 400, transp, 16 mill.
New Layer. Call it Feet. Selections, Load
from disk, penguin, feet.sel
Flood Fill with color #F99C69. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
New Layer. Call it Wing1. Selections, Load
from disk, wing1.sel
Flood Fill with color #4D3631. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change color to #030EA5, Opacity to 60 and Blur to 10. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Body. Selections, Load
from disk, body.sel
Flood Fill with black color. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change Blur to 30. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Stomach. Selections,
Load from disk, stomach.sel
Flood Fill with white color. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change color to #9CA4F4. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Stomachshadow.
Selections, Load from disk, stomachshadow.sel
Flood Fill with color #9CA4F4 and Opacity 20. Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur8.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Wing2. Selections, Load
from disk, wing2.sel
Flood Fill with color #4D3631. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change color to #030EA5, Opacity to 60 and Blur to 10. Deselect.
This is what you will have now.
New Layer. Call it Headblack. Selections, Load from disk, headblack.sel
Flood Fill with black color. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change Opacity to 80.
New Layer. Call it Headwhite. Selections,
Load from disk, headwhite.sel
Flood Fill with white color. Selections, Float, Effects, 3D, Cutout as before,
but change Opacity to 30.
This is your little friend so far.
New Layer. Call it Eye. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Make a circle 8 x 8. Airbrush2. White color. Make a little white dot
at the left upper part of the eye.
Duplicate and put the eyes in place.
New Layer. Call it Eyebrows. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Black color on Foreground. Background closed.
Make a circle 10 x 10. Selection Tool, Rectangle. Antialias checked. Mark the
part you will delete.
Delete. Duplicate and put the eyebrows in
place.
You can turn them a little with Deformation Tool.
New Layer. Call it Beak1. Selections,
Load from disk, beak1.sel
Flood Fill with color #F6904C. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Beak2. Selections,
Load from disk, beak2.sel
Flood Fill with color #A76F49. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Beak3. Selections,
Load from disk, beak3.sel
Flood Fill with color #F9AE71. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Beak4. Selections,
Load from disk, beak4.sel
Flood Fill with color #DA9669. Deselect.
Close all layers except those four
beak-layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Beak.
Selection Tool, Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the beak. Click inside.
Effects, Cutout the same as on Feet, but change Opacity to 70 and Blur to 21,3.
Stand on layer Headwhite. Magic Wand. Click
outside the head. Selections, Invert.
New Layer. Call it Cheeks. Keep it selected. Airbrush2, color #FDA49B.
Make a little red color on the cheeks, like this.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur4. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Headwhite. New Layer. Call
it Scarf1. Selections,
Load from disk, scarf1.sel
Flood Fill with the color of your choice. I used color #1B077F. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarf2. Selections,
Load from disk, scarf2.sel
Flood Fill with your color. Make it a little brighter. I used color #4830C0.
Selections, Float. Effects, Cutout as before, but change color to black.
Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Scarf3. Selections,
Load from disk, scarf3.sel
Flood Fill with your color. Make it a little darker. I used color #4830C0.
Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as before, but change Horizontal to 4 and
Vertical to -4. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Fringe. Preset Shapes,
Triangle. Make a triangle 7 x 20.
Turn it with Deformation Tool. Duplicate seven times and put them at the ends of
the scarf.
Close all other layers except those fringes and scarfs layers. Layers, Merge,
Merge Visible. Call it Scarf.
I'm sure the penguin needs a cap also. Let's make him one.
Stand on Layer Beak. New Layer. Call it
Captop. Selections,
Load from disk, captop.sel
Flood Fill with a color you like. I used #07238D. Selections, Float. Effects,
3D, Cutout as before.
New Layer. Call it Capfront. Selections,
Load from disk, captfront.sel
Flood Fill with a color you like. I used #432DB3. Selections, Float. Effects,
3D, Cutout as before.
Effects, Texture, Blinds as below.
New Layer. Call it Tassel. Use the Preset
Shape tassel, you got in the zip.
Set Foreground color to #432DB3 and Background color to #7275B8.
Make the tassel about 85 x 80. Put it on top of the cap.
Have a last look at your little penguin. If
you want to change something, do so now.
If you are satisfied, Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done!
