I give you a small lovely summerflower to draw.
In Sweden we call it Midsummerflower.
I will give you the outlines for the leaf here.
Zip it up in your PSP image folder.
Start with a New Image, 200 x 300, transp, 16
mill.
New Layer. Call it Stem. Draw, Bezier Curve, width 3. Antialias checked.

Foreground color #1C780A. Background closed. Make a straight line vertically

Release the mousebutton. Click to the right, outside the stem, at number 1.

Keep the mouse button in.
and drag the handle a little to make the curve nice and smooth. Relese the
button.
Click to the left of the stem at number 2 and drag the handle a bit.

Relese the mousebutton. Now you will have a nice bent stalk.

New Layer. Draw, the same settings. Make a
line 0 x 90.
Click at 1 and 2. Drag the handles a little.

Relese the button and place the branch on the stem with your Mover.
New Layer. Draw, the same as before. Make a new line 0 x 90. Click both 1 and 2 on the left side now.

Deformation tool. Turn the branch to fit the stem. Place it like this with your Mover.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Stem.
New Layer. Preset Shapes, Teardrop. Foreground
color #1A6509, Background color #24890D.
Make a small leaf about 4 x 18. Freehand tool. Antialias checked. Mark a small
part at the top
that you will delete.

Delete. Deselect. We do this to make the small
leaves to look a bit more natural.
Duplicate by right clicking in your Layers Palette, Image, Flip. Place it under the first leaf.
Put the small leaves in
position with your Mover.

Duplicate again, Deformation tool. turn it. Effects, Sharpen once. Place it beside the other small leaves.
Duplicate again, Deformation tool. turn it. Effects, Sharpen once. Place it beside the other small leaves.
Duplicate again, Deformation tool. turn it. Effects, Sharpen once. Place it beside the other small leaves.
Now you will have five small leaves. Place them like this.

Close layer Stem. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Small Leaves.
Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Place it like this.

Now to the big leaves.
Get the leaf you got in th zip. Copy and Paste
it as a New Layer. Call it Leaf.
Flood fill with color #24890D. Selections, Select all. Effects, 3D, Cutout as
below.

Keep it selected.
New Layer. Airbrush 3. Color #1D960A. Paint
the leaf where the leaf will look raised.
Change to color #1A6509 and paint where the leaf might have some
shadow.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 7. Deselect.
New Layer. Draw, Freehand, width 1. Foreground color #1A6509. Background closed. Make veins to the leaf.

Lover the Opacity in your Layer Palette to 70.
Close Layers, Stem + Small leaves + Copy of
small leaves.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Big Leaf.
Duplicate, Image, Mirror. Deformation Tool.
Push the leaf together a bit.
Place it on the right side of your Image like this.

Now to the flower. We will make it with some easy vectors.
New Vector Layer. Call it Flower. Preset Shapes, Flower. Settings as below.

Foreground color #9A18CA and Background color
#D95CF0.
Set your Styles to Solid on Foreground and Gradient on Background.


Click on Edit and make these settings.

Make a flower size 62 x 60. Keep Shift down while you drag the flower.
Click on Object Selector.
Node Edit. Click
on the top Node of the petal.

Right click your mousebutton.

Set to Cusp. Drag the left part of the handle up and to your left.
Drag the right part of the handle up and to your right.
Do the same procedure to all top nodes of the
petals.
Right click and Quite node editing. Left click. That was all vectoring.
Now all petals are slightly bent inwards.

Right click in your Layer Palette, Convert to Raster Layer.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. New
Layer. Airbrush 2. Color #9A18CA.
Make some lines on the petals like this.

Retouch Tool, Smudge. Settings like this.

Smudge the lines a bit.

New Layer. Keep it selected. Airbrush 2, color
#E91DFB. Paint inside the centre a little.
Change to color #E88CF4 and paint some more. See picture below.

Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 3. Deselect.
New Layer. Draw, Freehand Line 1. Antialias checked. Color #8503BB. Make lines at the centre like this.

New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Antialias
checked. Color #FFFFFE on
both Fore- and Background.
Make small dots at the centre of the flower like this.

Close Layers Stem and the Small leaves layers
+ Big leaf layers.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Call the Layer Flower.
Duplicate this layer three times. Use
Deformation tool and push two flowers together a bit.
Effects, Sharpen once.Now you will have two ordinary flowers and two smaller ones.
Place them like I
did, or to your liking.

We will also make a bud.
New Layer. Call it Bud. Preset Shapes, Teardrop. The same color and settings as on the flower.
Make the bud 14 x 22. Deformation tool, turn it to fit on top of the small
leaves.

Make small dots on top of the lines like this.

Close all layers except these three bud layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Bud.
Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Place the bud on top
of the other small leaves.
Deformation Tool, turn it a bit.
Go through your picture. If you want to change anything, do so now.
