Thread doll.

For this tutorial, you will need my Selections.
Get them here and zip them up in your PSP, Selections folder.
I have also included a thread tube. Put it in your PSP-tubes folder.

Save often!

Start with a New Image 300 x 400, transparent.

New Layer. Call the Layer Skirt. Selections, Load from Disk, skirt.sel.
Fill it with a color of your liking. I chose #C62F76. Deselect. Eye Candy Weave, linen as below..

New Layer. Call the Layer Skirtshadow. Selections, Load from Disk, skirtshadow.sel.
Fill with color #A11F5D. If you have chosen a different color than mine,
remember to fill with a darker tone of your color, for the shading. Deselect.

Stand on Layer Skirt. Selection Tool. Make a rectangle around the skirt. Click inside it.
Now, go to layer Skirtshadow. Keep the skirt still selected.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 4. Deselect.
Merge, Merge Visible to those two layers. Call it Skirt.

It will look like this now.

New Layer. Call the Layer Apron1. Selections, Load from Disk, apron1.sel.
Fill with a color of your liking. I chose #726BA1. Deselect.
Eye Candy, Weave, linen as before.

New Layer. Call the Layer Apronshadow. Selections, Load from Disk, apronshadow.sel.
Fill with color #4E1661. Deselect.

Stand on Layer Apron. Selection Tool. Make a rectangle around the apron. Click inside it.
Now, go to layer Apronhadow. Keep the apron still selected.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 6. Deselect. Close Layer Skirt.
Merge, Merge Visible to those two layers. Call it Apron.

New Layer. Call the Layer Apron2. Selections, Load from Disk, apron2.sel.
Fill with #726BA1 or the same you filled the apron with. Eye Candy, Weave, linen as before.

Close layer Skirt. Merge, Merge Visible to all other layers. Call it Apron.
This is what you will have now.

New Layer. Call the Layer Collar. Selections, Load from Disk, collar.sel.
Fill with #C62F76 or the same you filled the skirt with. Eye Candy, Weave, linen as before.
Deselect. Duplicate that layer. Image, Mirror. Put the collar in place, like this.

Close Layer Skirt and Layer Apron. Merge, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Collar.

New Layer. Call the Layer Band. Selections, Load from Disk, band.sel.
Fill with #C62F76 or the same you filled the skirt with. Deselect.

Stand on Layer Skirt. New Layer. Call the Layer Body. Selections, Load from Disk, body.sel.
Fill with #FAE7DE.  Deselect.

New Layer. Now to the thread part. Get your tube with my thread.
Don't be surprised that the thread is blue. We will change that later.

On this picture I have made the thread dark blue, so you can se better what you have to do.
You will now draw the thread like I did. To make the thread white, you go to
Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast.

New Layer. Call it Hands. You have to make hands on the doll also. Make them like I did.

Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, as above.

Close Apron Layer. Merge, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Body.

New Layer. Call it Hat1. Selections, Load from Disk, hat1.sel. 
Fill with the same color you have on your skirt.
Eye Candy, linen. The same settings as on Layer Skirt. Deselect.

New Layer. Call it Hat2. Selections, Load from Disk, hat2.sel. 
Fill with white color. Deselect. Lower the Opacity to 90.

If you like to decorate the hat a little more, now is the time for that.
Make a New Layer and make small dots,
or whatever you like best, around the bows. I used Airbrush 4, Round.

New Layer. Call it Hat3. Selections, Load from Disk, hat3.sel. 
Fill with the same color as you have on Layer Skirt.
Eye Candy, linen. The same settings as on Layer Skirt. Deselect.

New Layer. Call it Face. Selections, Load from Disk, face.sel. 
Fill with #FAE7DE. Keep the face selected and make a New Layer.
 Call it Threadface. Take the thread tube, the same settings as before
and make some thread on the face.
Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, as above.

It will look like this now.

 Keep the face still selected and make a New Layer. Airbrush 6.
Color red. Make two red dots on her cheeks.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 6. Deselect.

Keep Layer Apron closed. Merge, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Doll.

New Layer. Call it Eyemouth. Selections, Load from Disk, eyemouth.sel. 
Fill the eyes and eyebrows with black color. Use Airbrush 6. Fill the mouth with pink color. Deselect.
 

New Layer. Call it Hair. Use the thread tube and the same settings as before.
Draw some hair on the dolls head.
Colors, Adjust, Red/Green/Blue as below.

Then the hair will be yellow. Try different settings if you like another color.

Keep Layer Apron closed and Merge, Merge Visible to the rest. Call it Doll.

New Layer. Here you can decorate the lower part of the apron.
I made some dots with Airbrush 8, round, white color.

I also made a flower and Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast, as before.

In your Layer Palette, make sure you have Layer Doll at the bottom and Layer Apron on top.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.

Guess what? You are done!

You can now vary the dolls after your liking. Enjoy!
