Easter rabbit.
For this tutorial, you will need my
Selections for the rabbit and the egg.
Get them here and zip them up in your PSP, Selections folder.
You will also need Eye Candy,
Save often!
Start with a New Image 350 x 300,
transparent. You can fill it with a dark color if you like.
You will delete that layer later. Make your Layer Palette visible.
New Layer. Call the Layer Egg1. Selections, Load from Disk,
egg1.sel.
Fill it with white color. Effects, Noise, add 5% uniform. Deselect.
New Layer. Call the Layer Egg2. Selections, Load from Disk,
egg2.sel.
Fill it with color #E2E2EC. Effects, Noise, add 5% uniform. Deselect.
New Layer. Call the Layer Egg3. Selections, Load from Disk,
egg3.sel.
Fill it with white color. Effects, Noise, add 5% uniform. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Egg1, in your Layer Palette. Selection Tool.
Make a rectangle around the eggpart. Click inside it.
Effects, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Egg2. Selection Tool. Make a
rectangle around the egg. Click inside it.
Effects, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Egg3.
Selection Tool. Make a rectangle around the egg. Click inside
it.
Effects, Cutout as before. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Egg2. New Layer. Call it Body.
Selections, Load from disk body.sel.
Fill with color #F4F4F6. Effects, Eye Candy. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Ears1. Selections, Load
from disk ears1.sel.
Fill with color #D4D0E2. Effects, Eye Candy as before. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Head. Selections, Load
from disk head.sel.
Fill with color #F1F0F6. Effects, Eye Candy as before. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Ear2. Selections, Load
from disk ears2.sel.
Fill with color #FBF9FD. Effects, Eye Candy as before. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Eyes. Selections, Load
from disk eyes.sel.
Fill the eyes and wiskers with black color. Use Airbrush 8. Deselect.
New Layer. Call it Nose. Selections, Load
from disk nose.sel.
Zoom your picture really big. Use Airbrush 2 and fill the nose and mouth with
color #F6A294.
Fill the cheek lines with color #D3CFCF. Deselect. Fill the teeth with white.
Stand on Layer Egg3. New Layer. Call it
Paws. Fill with color white.
Selection Tool. Make a rectangle around the paws. Click inside. Effects, Cutout
as below.
Effects, Drop shadow as below.
So far, your picture will look like this.
Stand on Layer Head. Magic Wand. Click in
your picture. Selections, Invert.
Now you will have the head selected. Keep your picture selected.
New Layer. Call it Cheeks. Airbrush 20, color #F6A294.
Make one red dot on each cheek. Like this.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur10. Deselect.
Stand on Layer Body. Effects, Drop Shadow as below.
Stand on Layer Egg1. Magic Wand. Click at
your picture. Selections, Invert.
Now the egg is selected. Effects, Drop Shadow as above, but change Opacity to 70
and Blur to 5.
Stand on Layer Egg2. Magic Wand. Click at your picture. Selections, Invert.
Stand on Layer Egg3. Magic Wand. Click at
your picture. Selections, Invert.
Stand on Layer Head. Magic Wand. Click at
your picture. Selections, Invert.
Effects, Drop Shadow as below.
Delete Layer1, with your background color.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
Now you have a little rabbit to decorate with.
