Easter hen.

Kaa-kaa-kaa. This little hen wants to celebrate Easter with you.

Start with a New Image, 300 x 300, transp, 16 mill. New layer. Call it Comb.
Preset Shapes, Club1.

Color #DD1601 on both Fore- and Background. Make the comb 35 x 55.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect.

New layer. Call it Wing. Preset Shapes, Club1. Make the wing 70 x 40.
Image, Rotate, left 75. Duplicate the layer and put the other wing on top of the first one, like this.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Wing. Selections, Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as before. Deselect. Effects, Sharpen once.
Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Now you have two wings. Let's make the body.

New Vector layer. Call it Body. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Create as Vector checked.
White color on both Fore- and Background. Make the oval 125 x 220.  
Object Selector. Keep Ctrl down while you push the upper part together
and and drag the lower part out a bit. Make it eggshaped.

Selections, None. Right click in your Layer Palett, Convert to Raster layer.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect.

New layer. Call it Dots. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Remember to uncheck Create as Vectors. Make small black dots in different sizes on the body.

New layer. Call it Eye. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Make the eye 5 x 9. Effects, Inner bevel, Round, but increase Shininess to 60. Duplicate.
Put the eyes together.

New Vector layer. Call it Beak. Preset Shapes, Triangle. Check Create as Vector.
Foreground color #DD7801, Background color #FFBC09. Make the beak 25 x 25.
Object Selector. Node Edit. Right click on the bottom node. Node type, Symmetric.
Now the node will change to a little rounder shape. Right click. Quite node editing. Left click.
Place the beak under the eyes. Right click in your Layer Palette, Convert to Raster layer.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect.

Place all parts like this.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Hen.

New layer. Call it Foot. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color #FF8B19 on both Fore- and Background.
Make a vertical ellipse 15 x 90.

New layer. Make another ellipse 15 x 45. Image, Rotate, right 15. Duplicate. Image, Mirror.
Place the foot-parts like this.

Close layer Hen. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Foot.
Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect. Image, Rotate, left 15. Effects, Sharpen once.
Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Put the feet together.

Let's make the nest.
Draw 3, Single line. Antialias checked. Foreground color #9E7404, Background color #7B4E07.
Change between those colors. Make lots of branches. They must all point to the centre.

Selections, Select all. Selections, Float. Effects, 3D, Cutout as before, but change color to black.
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done.
