Little dog.
This is an easy way of making a little dog. You use only Preset Shapes and Rotate.
Get my tail and drop shapes
here. Zip them
up into your Shapes folder.
You will also need filter Paint Engine and Eye Candy.
Start with a New Image 400 x 200, transp, 16
mill. Call the layer Background.
Fill it with a dark color of your choice. We will delete it later.
New Layer. Call it Body. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color #FCFCF8 on both Fore- and
Background.
Antialias checked. Make an ellipse 240 x 130.
Put the body a little up to your right on your canvas.
New Layer. Call it Tail. Use the same
colors and Preset Shapes, lo_tail.
Make the tail 140 x 50. Place it under the body as
on picture below.
New Layer. Call it Leg1. Preset Shapes,
Rounded Rectangle. Color #EBEBE7.
Make the rectangle 115 x 45. Place it like this.
New Layer. Call it Paw. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #F0F0EC on both Fore- and Background.
Make the paw 50 x 35. Duplicate and place the paws with your Mover like this.
Close all layers except these two paw layers. Layers. Merge,
Merge Visible. Rename it Paws.
New Layer. Call it Toe. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Background closed. Color #B8B6B6.
Make an ellipse 4 x 10. Place it on the paw. I have increased the picture
so you can have a better look.
Freehand Tool. Antialias checked. Mark the part you will delete.
Delete. Duplicate two times and place the toes with the mover like this.
Close all layers except those three toe-layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Toes.
Layers, View all. Duplicate, Image, Mirror and place them on the other paw.
Close all layers except those two toes laýers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
Rename it Toes.
New Layer. Call it Leg2. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #F0F0EC on both Fore- and Background.
Make the leg 140 x 110. Image, Rotate, left 20. Place it like this.
Stand on Layer Leg1. Close all layers
except layers Leg1 and Leg2.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Rename it Leg.
Stand on layer Paw. Close layers Background, Tail, Body and Leg.
New Layer. Call it Head1. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #FCFCF8on both Fore- and Background.
Make the head 130 x 105. Place it like this.
New Layer. Call it Head2. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. The same color.
Make the headpart 105 x 90. Place it on top of Head1.
Close all layers except those two head layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Rename it Head.
New Layer. Call it Tongue. Preset Shapes,
Teardrop. Color #F78E83 on both Fore- and Background.
Make the tongue 18 x 27. Place it like this.
New Layer. Call it Muzzle. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #F5DCC7 on both Fore- and Background.
Make the ellipse 65 x 45. Duplicate and place them like this.
New Layer. Call it Spots. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color
#C0A590 on both Fore- and Background.
Make four small spots and place them on the muzzle. Duplicate. Image, Mirror.
Place the spots on the other muzzle.
New Layer. Call it Nose. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse- Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Make the nose 35 x 23. Place it ontop of the Muzzles.
New Layer. Call it Eye. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #7E5909 on both Fore- and Background.
Make a circle 15 x 15. Place it on the dogs head.
New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Make a circle 10 x 10. Place it on the eye.
New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. White color on both Fore- and Background.
Make a circle 4 x 4. Place it on the eye on the upper left.
Close all layers except these three eye
layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Rename it Eye.
Layers, View all. Duplicate the eye and place the eyes like this.
New Layer. Call it Ear1. Preset Shapes,
Tear Drop. Color #EBEBE7 on both Fore- and Background.
Make the ear 60 x 132. Image, Rotate right 30. Place it on the dogs head.
New Layer. Call it Ear2. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #EBEBE7 on both Fore- and Background.
Make the ear 40 x 65. Image, Rotate right 30. Place it at the bottom of the ear.
Close all layers except those two ear layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
Rename it Ear.
Layers, View all. Duplicate the ear. Image, Mirror. Place the ear on the other
side of the head.
This is what you will have now.
Now to the fun part. Making the fur.
Stand on Layer Ear. Magic Wand. Click
outside the ear. Selections, Invert.
Filter Eye Candy, Fur. Settings as below.
Keep it selected. Eye Candy, Jiggle as below.
Deselect. This is how it looks now.
Retouch tool, Smudge as below.
Make just tiny little strokes around the
ear
and it may look like this.
Stand on Layer Copy of ear and do the same.
When you take Fur, use these settings.
When you take Jiggle, use these settings.
Retouch tool, Smudge, use the same settings as before.
This way you will have some difference
between the ears. They will not look the same,
as they would have looked, if you copied and mirrored the first ear.
Stand on Layer Body.
Magic wand. Click outside the body. Selections, Invert. Paint Engine as below.
Deselect. Retouch tool, Smudge. Settings as before. Smudge the edges.
Stand on Layer Head and do the same as on Body.
Stand on Layer Leg and do the same as on Body.
Stand on Layer Muzzle and do the same as on
Body. Deselect.
Eye Candy, Jiggle as below.
Stand on Copy of muzzle and do the same.
That was the fur. Now to the shading part.
Stand on layer Body. Selections, Select
all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on layer Leg. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on layer Head. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Ear. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Copy of Ear. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Tail. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Muzzle. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Copy of Muzzle. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.

Deselect.
Stand on Layer Tongue. Selections,
Select all. Selections, Float.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.
Deselect.
Stand on Layer Nose. Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel as below.
Stand on Layer Head. New Layer. Airbrush3,
Opacity 70, Hardness 70, color #61615F.
Make two rings around the eyes.
Effects, Blur, Gaussian Blur 4.
Stand on your Background Layer. Delete the color.
Your dog is finished now. Have a look at
the parts and arrange them to your liking.
When you are satisfied with what you see, Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
If you take another color and rearrange the bodyparts a bit, the dog might look like this.
