This is a little country-bird you can make. You can fill his wings and body with different fabrics.
Right click and save this eye to your PSP-Image-folder. Get the Image to your
workingspace.
Colors, Increase color depth, 16 mill. Go to your Layer Palette. Right click on
the Background text.
Promote to Layer. Set Tolerance in your Tool Option Box to a low value. I used
7.
Magic Wand and click outside the eye. Delete. Now you will have a
transparent background for the eye. Copy and Paste it as a New Image. Save as
psp.
Get the Preset Shapes here if you
don't have them already.
New Image, 250 x 250, transparent.
New Layer. Call it Body.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse, foreground and
background red color. Make an oval 140 x 200.
Selection Tool. Mark as on picture. Delete that part.
Selection Tool. Mark around the body. Click inside it. Effects, Cutout.

Deselect.
New Layer. Draw. Black color. Only Foreground shall be active. Close Background.

Make dots around the body.

When you are finished, right click and Quit
node editing.
Now you got the quilting.

Merge Visible. Call the Layer Body.
New Layer. Call it Legs. Preset Shapes, water, yellow color on both fore- and background, 110 x 135.

Selection Tool. Delete what I have marked with black on the picture.

Deformation Tool. Turn the leg right. Duplicate the layer. Mirror.
Put the two legs together. Close Body Layer. Merge Visible. Call it Legs.
Be sure the Legs Layer is at the bottom of the Layers Palette.
Now to the quilting.
New Layer. Draw, Dashed Line. Black color. Only Foreground shall be active.
Close Background.
Do as you did with the body part.

Close Body Layer. Merge Visible. Call it Legs.
New Layer. Call it Peak. Preset Shapes,
Triangle, yellow color on both fore- and background, 55 x 40.
Deformation Tool. Turn it so it fits to the body.
Selection Tool. Mark around the peak. Click inside. Effects, Cutout. The same
settings as before.
Put Peak Layer under the Body Layer.
Stand on Body Layer. New Layer. Call it
Wing1.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse, 105 x 35. Foreground and background yellow. Duplicate.
Deformation tool. Turn the wing-piece like the picture.

Duplicate, Image, Flip. Put it in its place.
Turn off Body, Peak and Legs. Merge Visible. Call it Wing 1.
Selection Tool. Mark around the peak. Click inside.
Effects, Cutout. The same settings as before.
New Layer. We will do some quilting here to. Do as you did earlier.
Duplicate that Layer. Call it Wing 2. Drag it under the Body Layer. Deformation Tool. Turn it a little.

Stand on Wing 1. New Layer. Call it Button.
Preset Shapes, button,

Take your Dropper and get some red color from the
button.
Flood Fill, tolerance 44 + opacity 12.
New Layer. Make four little hoals with black color and black thread.
New Layer. Put the eye in place.

You succeeded! That was all!


I have made this bird in felt also. This is how it looks then.
