This is a butterfly I have in my home. It is made of felt.
You got to have the stitches, to make the quilt. Get it here. Put them in your PSP, Styled lines folder.
Don't forget to save often!
Start with a new Image 350 x 300, transparent.
Fill the first layer with black color. Close the layer.
New layer. Call it wing1.
Preset Shapes, heart1. Color: Foreground #white, background #ACB4F2.

Make the heart 250 x 250. You can see the size in the left lower part of your screen.

Selection Tool, rectangle. Cut off the part as shown.

New Layer. Call it Stitches.
Draw, Point to point, as shown. Turn off background color. Use white as foreground color.

Make little dots around the heart. Use the zoom to see better.

Right click when you are done. Quit node editing.
Turn on the black background layer. Stand
on layer Stitch. Eraser 1.
Erase all parts outside the heart.

Turn off the black layer and Merge visible to the rest. Call the layer Wing1.
New layer. Color #2F4AF1. Make some blue
lines inside the wing.
Stand on Wing1 layer. Selection Tool, rectangle. Make a rectangle around the
wing.
Click inside it. Don't deselect and stand on the New layer again.

Gaussian Blur 15. Deselect. Keep the black background closed and Merge Visible. Call it Wing1.
Duplicate that layer and call it Wing2. Drag the Wing2 layer under Wing1.

New layer. Call it Dot1. Take a color of your choise. I used #F6C19E on both fore- and background.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Drag a circle 60 x 60. Keep Shift down while you drag. That keeps the circle round.
Now to the quilting. New layer. Draw. The
same settings as before. White color. Background closed.
Make dots around the circle. When you are done, right click an take Quit node
editing.
Close the background and the Wings layer. Merge Visible. Call it Dot1.
It will now look like this.

Duplicate the layer. Call it Dot2. Turn on
Wing1 and put the Dot2 in place. Merge Visible.
Call the layer Wing1.

New Layer. Call it Stars. Draw, Single line 2, white color. Make a little star like the one I made.

Duplicate that layer two times and put the
stars in place on the wing.

Merge Visible. Call the layer Wing1. Turn the layer off.
New layer. Call it Body. Preset Shapes,
Ellipse. Color #8D6907 on both fore. and background.
Make an ellipse 240 x 20.
New layer. Color #CA8D0A. Make the quilting as before, underneath the body.

New layer. Call it Antennas. The same brown
color as the body. Draw 8, Single line. Make a line 20 x 45.
Quilt it in the same way you did with the body. Duplicate and put the other
antenna in place.

Merge Visible to the antennas and the body. Call it Body.
Delete the black Background layer.
Make all the layers visible. Drag the Body layer under Wing1 layer.

Merge Visible and you are done!

You can give your butterflies different colors and you can decorate them any way you like.

Just to show you. This butterfly can be made with fabric also.
