Candy-bits.

Do you like to have a taste of my candy. Just go ahead. You are welcome!
You will also need Paint Engine and Eye Candy for this tut.
Save often!
Start with a New Image 400 x
400, transp, 16 mill.
New Layer. Call it Candy1. Color #FCFDAF on both Fore- and Background. Draw Tool as below.

Make a line 90 long.

Duplicate that layer in your Layer Palette. Put that piece a bit downwards.

New Layer. Black color
on both Fore- and Background. Make the same size on the line.
Duplicate two times.
Put those pieces one on top, one in the middle and one at the bottom, like this.

Layers Merge, Merge visible. Call the layer
Candy1.
If you find that the edges are not straight, use Selection Tool, rectangle.
Draw a rectangle downwards and hit the Delete button.

Selection Tool, rectangle. Draw a rectangle around the candy.
Click inside it.
Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

Deselect. This is your first Candy bit. Doesn't it look tasty?

Now to candy number 2.
New Layer. Preset Shapes, Color #FFADCE
on both Fore- and Background.
Preset Shapes, Rounded rectangle. Make a rectangle 110 x 60.
Effects, Paint Engine, as below.

Make a rectangle with Selection Tool and click inside it. Effects, 3D, Cutout as below.

New Layer. The same pink color on both Fore- and
Background.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make the ellipse 113 x 23.
Effects, Paint Engine, as before. Cutout as before, but change Vertical to
1 and Horizontal to -4.
Put the piece on top of the rectangle like this.

New Layer. Black color on both Fore- and
Background. Preset Shapes, Ellipse.
Make an oval 50 x 10. Put it on top of the candy. Layers, Merge, Merge visible.
Save it as Candy2.
Your second candy bit is ready. Yammy!

Now to the third candy bit.
New Layer. Black color on both Fore- and
Background. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make an ellipse 90 x 100.
Selection Tool, Rectangle. Mark the ellipse like this.

Delete. Deselect. Erase a little at the lower ends like this.

New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse, color
#918EC7 on both Fore- and Background.
Make a tiny ball 6 x 6. Keep Shift down while you drag. That makes a perfect
circle.
Selection Tool. Make a rectangle around the part and click inside. Effects, 3D,
Cutout as below.

Now, this will take some time. Duplicate
this ball lots of times,
until you have covered the whole candy.
Move them around with the Mover, to see where they would fit the best.
Remember that you shall see some of the black color here and there.
You can zoom the picture to make it easier to see what you are doing.
Start with putting the balls around the
whole candy like this.

Then go on putting them inside.

Remember, it shall not look too perfect! No
perfect rows!
Now and then you have to Merge your layers, otherwise there will be too many.
So when you have about 10 layers, you have to close layer Candy 1 + 2 and Merge
Visible to te rest.
Keep on filling the candy. When you are satisfied
with the looks,
close Layer Candy1 + 2. Layers, Merge, Merge visible to the rest. Call it
Candy3.
Selection Tool. Rectangle. Make a rectangle around the candy and click inside
it.
Effects, 3D, Cutout with these settings.

Deselect.
That was your third candy bit. Really my favorite!

The fourth candy bit goes like this. Do you
like licorice?
New Layer. Black color on both Fore- and
Background.
Preset Shapes, Rounded rectangle. Make the rectangle 50 x 125.
Eye Candy with these settings.

New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse, black color. Make an ellipse 50 x 19.
Put it on top of the other piece.

Close Layer Candy 1 + 2 + 3. Layers, Merge,
Merge Visible. Call it Candy4.
Do you have the taste for chocolate too?
New Layer. Fore- and Background. color
#623212. Preset Shapes, Ellipse.
Color #693C23 on both Fore- and Background.
Make an ellipse 80 x 130. Effects, Texture, Sculpture.

Get your Bucket and Flood Fill with the same brown color and these settings three times.

Effects, Sharpen twice.

Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel, with these settings.

This was your last candy bit.

You can experiment with other shapes of chocolate and other colors of the candy bits if you like.
