Bear on peppermintring.

This picture is made with Preset Shapes.
Get the bow here. Zip it up in your PSP Image folder.
The zip also includes the Gear and Heart. Zip them up in your Preset Shapes folder.
You will also need filter Paint Engine. Get it here. Zip it up in your Plug-ins folder.

Start with a New Image 300x300, transp, 16 mill.
New Layer. Call it Ring1. White color on your Foreground. Background closed.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Set Line width to 20, Antialias checked.
Make a circle 170x170.   Look at the bottom of your canvas.
Keep Shift in while you drag the circle. That will make it perfectly round.
Center the ring on your canvas with your Mover.

New Layer. Call it Ring2. Preset Shapes, Gear 4. Settings as below.

Color #C20404 on both Fore- and Background. Make sure Line width is 1.
Make a circle 194. Keep Shift down while you drag.
Center it with your Mover on top of the white ring like this.


Stand on layer Ring1 in your Layer Palette. Magic Wand.
Click inside the white ring. Keep it selected. Go back to layer Ring2 in your Layer Palette.
Selections, Invert. Effects, Geometric, Twirl 225. Selections, Invert. Delete. Deselect.
Now you have got rid of the red centre.

Stand on Layer Ring1. Magic Wand. Click outside the ring. Go back to Layer Ring1. Delete, Deselect.

New Layer. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Line width 2.Foreground white color. Background closed. Make a ring 180. Center it with your Mover ontop of the others.
Effects, Blur,
Gaussian Blur 2,70. Now you will have a shine on the peppermint.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call the layer Peppermint.

Get the bow you got in the zip. Copy and paste it as a New Layer. Call it Bow.
Place it on the peppermint.
 

Now to the bear.

New Layer. Call it Body. Preset Shapes, Heart4.



Color #B91111 on both Fore- and Background. Make
the body 92x100.
Make  the heart up-side-down. Paint Engine as below.



New Layer. Call it Arm. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. the same color as before.
Make the arm 67x24. Image, Rotate as below.

Paint Engine as before. Place the arm to the body like this.

New Layer. Call it Paw. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Color on Foreground #A21010
and on Background color #C20404. Make an ellipse 20x25. Place it on the arm like this.

Close all layers except Layers Arm + Paw. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Arm.

Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Place the other arm on the body like this.

New Layer. Call it Ear. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. The same colors as before.
Make the ear 32x34. Paint Engine as before. Place it like this.

New Layer. Call it Innerear. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Fore- and Background color #FEF5EF.
Make the ear 28x28. Paint Engine as before. Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast.
Set Brightness to 40 and Contrast to 0. Place the innerear like this.

Close all layers except those two ear layers. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.
Call the layer Ear.

Duplicate. Image, Mirror.

New Layer. Call it Head. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Foreground color #A21010,
Background color #C20404. Make the head 55x60. Paint Engine as before.
Place the head like this.


Arrange the bodyparts to your liking with your Mover.

New Layer. Call it Eye. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Black color on both Fore- and Background.
Make the eye 7x7. Airbrush, size 1. White color. Make a dot at the upper left on the eye.
Duplicate and put the other eye in place like this.

New Layer. Call it Muzzle. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Fore- and Background color #FEF5EF.
Make the muzzle 40 x 30.
Paint Engine as before. Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast.
Set Brightness to 40 and Contrast to 0.
Place it on the head like this.

You might have to adjust the eyes a bit with your Mover.
They should be covered a bit by the muzzle.

New Layer. Call it Nose. Black color on both Fore- and Background. Make the nose 16x12.
Put it in place on the upper part of the muzzle.

New Layer. Call it Noseline. Color #C0C0C0 on Foreground. Background closed. Draw. Line width 1. Antialias checked. Make a vertical line 7 long. Place it right under the nose.

New Layer. Call it Mouth. Color #C0C0C0 on Foreground. Background closed.
Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Make an ellipse 21x18. Place it as on picture below.
Selection Tool, Rectangle. Antialias checked.
Mark the upperpart that you will delete. Like this.

Delete. Deselect. Now the bear will have a happy face.
Stand on layer Nose in your Layer Palette. Effects, 3D, Inner Bevel as below.

Close all layers except layers Nose, Noseline and Mouth.
Layers Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Face.

Now to the legs.

New Layer. Call it Leg. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Foreground color #AB1515 and
Background color #C20404. Make the leg 37x48.
Paint Engine as before. Place it like this.



Duplicate, Image Mirror. Put the leg in place on the other side of the body.

New Layer. Call it Foot. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Fore- and Background color #740E0E.
 Make the foot 28x42. Image, Rotate, Left, Free 10.
Place it infront of the leg on the left side of the body.

New Layer. Call it Toe1. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Fore- and Background color #740E0E.
 Make the toe 11x8. Place it on top of the foot.

New Layer. Call it Toe2. Preset Shapes, Ellipse. Fore- and Background color #740E0E.
 Make the toe 8x9. Place it on top of the foot to the left.

Duplicate and put this toe to the right on the foot.

The foot will look like this now.

Close all layers except the Foot and the Toe Layers.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Call it Foot.

Duplicate. Image, Mirror. Put the foot on the other leg.

This is what the bear will look like now.



You can choose to stop here if you like.

Arrange the parts with your Mover to your liking.

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done.

 Or you can take some Smudge on the fur.
Use these settings then.

Stand on the different layers, one at a time, in your Layers Palette
and smudge with tiny strokes outwards.

When you are done smudging,  arrange the bodyparts to your liking.
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible and you are done.
